George M. Gomez Founding Attorney

A trial attorney with more than one hundred jury and bench trials to his name, George M. Gomez has earned a reputation for taking on the cases other lawyers decline — including some of the most closely watched matters in Illinois.

A 2014 graduate of Northern Illinois University College of Law, he built his career in the state and federal courts of Illinois on serious criminal defense, with a particular command of “crimmigration” — the intersection where a criminal charge collides with a client’s immigration status. It is demanding, high-stakes work, and it is the work most firms would rather refer out.

George has tried more than one hundred cases to the bench and to juries, from DUIs to the most serious felonies, and has served as lead counsel in federal criminal matters across the U.S. District Courts where he is admitted. That experience has placed him at the center of some of the region’s most closely watched cases.

He founded George M. Gomez & Associates to keep immigration, family, and criminal matters under one roof, in English and in Spanish, for the families across Lake, Cook, and DuPage Counties who cannot afford to be passed from office to office. His method is deliberate and thorough: to know the record more completely than the opposing side, to weigh the consequences of every decision several steps before it is made, and to ensure that no client ever enters a courtroom uncertain of what comes next. Where a matter can be resolved on fair and favorable terms, he resolves it efficiently; where it cannot, he is fully prepared to litigate it to verdict. The objective never changes — a dependable result, reached with as much foresight and as little risk as the case will allow.
